Charlotte Legal Services, Inc. serves at the convenience of its plan’s members. As differing needs arise, a member of the CLS, Inc.’s Pre-paid Legal Services Plan has access to an experienced, licensed, North Carolina attorney, who will prepare the member’s document(s) in language that is clear, concise and easy to understand. John “David” Matheny was born in Charleston, West Virginia. After graduating high school, he moved to North Carolina and attended High Point University where he majored in Communication. For law school, he attended Charlotte School of Law. He graduated in May 2015 and sat for (and passed) the North Carolina Bar Exam in July 2015. David has focused on Real Estate law since passing the bar. His experience includes working for and with major Banks and Law Firms. In 2020, he started his own firm and has been working with CSL since November of 2021. In his free time, David enjoys sports and spending time with his dogs on Lake Norman.

Cathleen Kahler graduated from Michigan State University with high honors. She has a Master’s degree in Psychology and an undergraduate degree in Social Work. After graduating, she taught business and Psychology at three colleges and worked as a management consultant for small businesses in Charlotte, NC. She started Charlotte Legal Services, Inc. and had a plan registered through the North Carolina State Bar in 1983.

Serving Charlotte Mecklenburg and surrounding counties as Notary Public and Notary Signing Agent for over 17 years. Dependable, reliable, and friendly customer care. She has a B.A. Sociology and enjoys meeting new people.
